Hi there! If you’re reading this we’re sure that you noticed that we didn’t post this blog last week as we do annually. We actually worked most of New Year’s Eve on December 31st and then in the evening rushed out of state with our pets to celebrate together as usual in the peace & quiet as a family. This New Year’s Eve was different though in that we didn’t feel like rushing to set up our studio lights outside to photograph ourselves since we got off work so late that evening. We instead pulled out the pull-out bed in that living room and watched the ball drop in our comfy pajamas with our pets on the pull-out next to us. There wasn’t snow on Christmas and there wasn’t even snow on New Year’s Eve (and all of the water up there was thawed out), so given those facts AND it being a 2nd Pandemic New Year’s Eve, we were just kind of apathetic toward our annual sparkler New Year’s Eve photo….
We were so overworked and apathetic (and sick of the Pandemic… and, and, and…) that we didn’t even photograph our “fun” New Year’s Eve sparkler photo until a FULL week later that following weekend-! At the last second Jenny put us in vintage robes which seemed much more “The Vibe” for January 2022 than only our glittery New Year’s Eve outfits. As you can see… We were Thrilled.
**(Sarcasm aside, we were SO dang glad that it finally snowed a few inches that week following New Year’s Eve). Anywho, here are the other 7 years past (all but ONE taken in the same place). Enjoy!
We hope that you & yours had a SAFE New Year’s Eve and that no one in your family has had to suffer Covid-19’s Omicron. We personally haven’t been to a large-r family group gathering since Thanksgiving 2021, so we’re again locked down and as usual photographing clients weekly fully medically masked up. We actually have a Portrait Session to capture tomorrow out new St. John, Indiana (close to the Illinois border), so we’ll again mask up to capture it (and our next 2 Portrait Sessions as well), so we’ll continue to do our part and hope that you all continue to do yours as we sit here 2 months from the 2 year anniversary (sadly) of the onset of the initial Covid-19 lockdowns. 2020 brought fear, 2021 brought widespread vaccines, and 2022 must bring the end to QAnon, anti-vaxxers, those (sociopaths) against teamwork & care, and all of that nonsense that doesn’t help communities thrive. Let’s get through this together as safely as possible. To still caring about others and SHOWING that.
