Merry Pandemic Christmas #2 (2021)!

Merry Christmas 2021/ Happy 2nd Pandemic Christmas! By this point we’re all beaten down and worn out by the Pandemic, but over here we’re super happy that distancing, masking in closed indoors, and vaccines plus boosters have kept us Covid-19 FREE since March 15th, 2020! This year we’re again spending a small holiday with our 3 pets (whose stockings were already ravaged by them this Christmas day) opening a ton of presents from our 3 parents & Jason’s grandma! (THANK you to all of them for the gifts & to my sister for the bucket-o-cookies!)

Every Christmas for the past 8 years we’ve taken the same style of photo in a bathing suit by a big body of water within an hour or so of our home. We started this tradition in our old home of Santa Barbara, California with a Christmas tree, Jenny’s giant nutcracker, and a hand built sand snowman on the beach at sunset. We’ve carried this tradition on to Michigan’s lakes and here in Indiana’s rivers ever since! We should have been including our pets since our 2nd Annual Christmas photo in 2015, but due to Global Warming it’s been a struggle over the past 7 Decembers to even FIND snow, let alone get it in a photo with us before it melts hours later. Often we have to shovel the snow in because there’s not more than a few centimeters on the ground and this year we had NO snow all of December- even today on Christmas on Dec 25th! Since snow has instead been big thunderstorms all month, we had to settle a week ago on a photo in warm 60 degrees on the beach at Lake Michigan (in Michigan). Sadly it felt even warmer than when we first took this photo 8 Christmases ago in Santa Barbara, California back in 2014, so that was Global Warming scary considering we’re a mere 3 hours from the Canada border. Alas, without further adieu, our annual Christmas Photo for 2021-! (And enjoy our prior 7 years as well!

Wow! We can’t believe it’s been 8 Decembers of this silly photo, 7 Decembers of having our elderly rescue cat Kevin, 6 Decembers of having our rescue doggo Coco, & somehow 3 Decembers of having our dog Rizzo (2018 RIP to 10 year old O.G. Bunny Marco). We hope that you and yours stay safe during this spike of Covid with the Omicron variant and that you and all can get vaccinated and boosted ASAP to keep yourselves, loved ones, and strangers/ community/ world safe. TEAMWORK makes the Dream Work. (As someone who played competitive sports (as a starter on each team my entire life)- sports that were completely dependent on teamwork and couldn’t be won alone- Volleyball, team tennis, etc- it’s often IMPOSSIBLE to win/ beat anything without complete teamwork. Death by Covid of the Unvaccinated is a fucked up way to “bench” teammates permanently, so PLEASE get vaccinated- if not for you, then for other humans in this world. STOP the divide and listen to the TRUE EXPERTS… please for the love of all that is holy). #EndRant
