This week we’re sharing with you a special Family Portrait Session that we captured for an extended family around the 4th of July at a local lake in Southwest Michigan! Jenny has known this family since the early 2000s (for 21+ years) as one of the sons was in her high school class (and on Homecoming Court with Jenny) in South Bend, IN. This family has expanded in recent years with 4 grandkids in the mix, so we were excited to meet the 3 spouses, meet the 4 grandkids, and briefly catch up with everyone during their Family Portrait Session-!
When Mrs. Thorpe reached out to us about capturing the extended family over the holiday weekend we were happy that we were set to conveniently already set to be a couple minutes away that day, so everything worked out well for the weekend Session. The family owns a boat storage and service business, so we location scouted a spot for them on their property the evening prior to the Session then captured their Family Portrait Session around sunset the next evening.
The family is comprised of the wonderful grandparents and their 3 sons and their families. Each of the brothers now has at least one child in their little family, so it was very heartwarming to meet all of the sweet kids during their Session-!
Because the family owns a boat storage & service business (as seen in the sign in the background of a photo below) they also have some amazing personal boat collections. Because of this they decided to have each little son family bring a boat out onto the lake for some photos in some of their cool vintage family boats-!
As we mentioned, we had also captured a large portion of their Session on some of their property in nature, so we were thrilled to get to literally only walk a block or 2 to be able to capture them in both of these fun, beautiful private nature scenes.
The kids were great during the photos and absolutely adorable. We were also excited to have one of the families bring their pup along because it’s always wonderful to be able to capture a fur kid too.
