We just returned from our belated Christmas visits to Jason's immediate family out in California and then Mexico just a couple days ago and wanted to continue on these #WeddingThrowbacks that we've been sharing with you this month! For 3 or 4 weeks in a row we've been sharing with you weddings that we photographed 7 and 8 years ago, so this week we're sharing with you something a little different that we haven't photographed in years: A Wedding Rehearsal Dinner-!
Mark and Steph were married on July 23rd, 2011 and yesterday marked their Six & a Half Year Wedding Anniversary! Mark is Jenny's cousin and is one of her two cousins on her mom's side who got married in 2011. Mark's mom (Jenny's aunt Mary Ellen) hired Jenny in 2011 to photograph their rehearsal dinner the night prior to their wedding which was awesome and laid back. Jenny had already photographed 3 weddings that month in Ohio and Indiana, so it was a nice change of pace to photograph a rehearsal dinner and just enjoy the wedding itself the next day!
It's pretty rare now-a-days for us to photograph rehearsal dinners to be honest. There's so much that goes into the wedding day itself and all of our wedding photography packages we offer include both of us photographing for a full day's worth of wedding activities (as well as beautiful physical photo products!) that it's quite a lot of professional photography for anyone. This wedding is also special because Mark & Jenny's uncles (who both separately passed away much too early a little over a year later in the fall of 2012) were in attendance.
Without further adieu, here are some of our favorites from Steph and Mark's rehearsal dinner the night prior to their July 23rd, 2011 wedding!
Though an attendee rather than photographer at the wedding, Jenny still brought her camera and snapped away to capture some shots during the ceremony and reception! Here are just a few from the wedding day in South Bend at the church and the reception afterward!
A huge congratulations on 6.5 years, Steph and Mark! You two have raised 3 awesome little boys over the years since your wedding and we have loved hanging out with not only you two, but all of them as well. You have an awesome little family!
Coming up next Weekly Wednesday's blog post is our Best of 2017 weddings-! Next Wednesday is the last day of the first month of 2018 (January 31st) and we plan on showcasing our favorite photographs from all of the 2017 weddings we photographed! We're so excited to choose and organize these for you all in our blog post, but it's a daunting task going through somewhere between 10,000 and 20,000 images to choose these-! Luckily we have narrowed down each wedding to our favorite 100 to 150 photos via previous blog posts from 2017, but it's still a daunting task to say the least. After we finish up the insane amount of work we have this week, we'll get right to choosing these photos this weekend-! (This will also help us choose at least 20 new favorite wedding photos of 2017 for our new sample wedding album for our consultation office which we can't wait to design next week-!)
