It's been a month since John & Miranda celebrated their July 27th wedding anniversary out in California! Since we were busy blogging Liz & Aaron's new Purdue University wedding teaser photos that week and then Caitlin & Joe's new University of Notre Dame Basilica wedding photos the following week, we finally have time to share John & Miranda's wedding photos from FOUR years ago in celebration of their belated anniversary!
The wedding of John and Miranda took place is sunny Hollywood, California. These two managed to pick the perfect venue for their big day in the city of glamorous movie stars: The Silent Movie Theater. As the name would imply, the venue is actually a fully functioning silent movie theater built in 1942. In true special event fashion a red carpet was laid out leading to the entrance to greet the happy bride upon her arrival.
Guests filed past the ticket taker and passed the concession stand where traditional theater snacks such as popcorn and soda were served before the big show. Everyone took their seats as they awaited the love story to begin up front. John entered first and took his spot at the right side of the front stage. The bridesmaids and Miranda then entered down the opposite aisle of the theater meeting up in front of the silver screen itself.
The ceremony itself was short and sweet, consisting of an exchanging of vows and a first kiss. Immediately following the ceremony all in attendance made their way to a back patio area to enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while John and Miranda made things official by signing their marriage license. As cocktail hour was underway, the theater played a few silent movies for guests that wanted to relax and enjoy a little history of Hollywood.
John and Miranda wanted to enjoy the most of their party and it took a little convincing to get them to come away with me to get a few portraits of just the two of them together. Having just 3 minutes to work with the two of them alone, the formal portraits of the couple of a little lacking. We did however get a few photos of them illuminated by the glowing neon on the facade of the theater. Following the few moments we spent taking photos of the couple, it was immediately on to cutting the cake before the conclusion of the night.
Congratulations to you John and Miranda, for making it these past 4 years. We hope the best for the two of you and that you have many more glamorous years ahead of you!
Tomorrow morning we head down 6 hours away to Ohio for the wedding of Amber & Walter this Friday September 8th under a beautiful waterfall in Hocking Hills! It's bound to be a beautiful day and weekend and we're excited for it. The following weekend we're also excited to photograph Tasha & Josh's upcoming wedding at Amish Acres! The following day we even get to photograph Eileen & Dustin's Engagement Session as we prepare for their upcoming spring wedding! The fun doesn't stop there, though. The weekend after that we also have Sara & Nick's wedding to photograph at a beautiful castle on a lake down in Monticello, Indiana that's bound to be a great time with a live band outside & all! This month of September is full of weddings galore, so we're beyond excited to begin them! (October weddings: We haven't forgotten about you! Fall will be in full swing and things will be beautiful and cooled off, so we cannot wait for yours either!) Have a fantastic weekend, all!
