This fall we’ve had the pleasure of working in our studio capturing images for clients. Usually our indoor studio is utilized for Infant Sessions with props, Pet Portraits, the ever rare studio Senior Photos (though most Seniors prefer outdoor On Location Sessions), winter Holiday Portrait Sessions, or Professional Headshots. In just a few days we have a Christmas Portrait Session to capture (of 9 wee children), but have also been able to capture some headshots for professionals again recently. You may have seen some of our studio headshots of local bank executives throughout the year that both of us have captured on various occassions, but these recent headshots that we’ve captured of individuals have been much more small-scale and serene.
At the start of November Jessica started her new hospital job. She went from working as a nurse at one hospital to getting a new job at the other local hospital utilizing her MBA that she earned less than a year ago! Her new job comes with more stable hours/ regular work days, so she’s very happy with her new position and that it frees up a bit more time for her to spend with her husband and two children (and dog!). The new job requested from her a professional headshot, so instead of heading over to JC Penny or the like, she reached out to hire us for her headshots! We moved the studio & lights around for the perfect headshot scenario and captured a good amount of photos posing her in various ways for the most flattering body position and lighting. Since the photos were needed stat, we edited immediately that night and had her choose her favorites from a gallery the next day, then did more extensive editing. We love the favorites that she chose for her new job!
Just a week later in November Victor also reached out to hire us for headshots! Victor is the GM of the new hotel Aloft that opened in downtown South Bend last fall! He had originally worked at an Aloft in southern California, so when the new Aloft was made, Victor the ever hard worker was chosen to move out to Indiana to be the GM of the new hotel! Victor is enrolled in and almost finished with his MBA program here in South Bend at the University of Notre Dame, so he figured with being so close to graduation that he needed new professional headshots for his LinkedIn profile and professional web presence. Victor chose a perfect fall day for outdoor photos (with the next day being snowy) and chose to have his headshots On Location at the University of Notre Dame since that’s where he’s been working on his MBA. We love the photos that he chose (most lit by a combination of our speedlights, softbox, reflectors, sun, etc) and again went into more extensive editing for him (before photographing an Engagement Session for a wedding couple of ours just a couple days later)! We really lucked out on the weather for Victor- it was one of the last fall-colored, non-brown, non-snowy days this fall and was actually a bit warm as opposed to the next day that was snowy and frigid!
As you can see, there are wonderful elements to both In Studio and On Location professional headshots! In Studio gives us a better ability to hone in perfect lighting and simplicity, whereas On Location can give us more of a story to work with (i.e. showing where Victor is working hard to get his degree). We love that we were recently able to capture two VERY hardworking MBAs who literally worked high stress full-time jobs while also gaining their MBA degree in a full-time program here in South Bend. Master’s programs are hard enough, but MBAs and MFAs are a completely other level especially with working full time (speaking from experience), so we’re very proud and awed by these two in their constant pursuit of learning and bettering their knowledge, experience, wisdom, educations, and careers! These two are shining examples of success in our books!
Thanks so much, Jessica & Victor for trusting us with your Professional Headshots! Congratulations on the hard work you put in toward your MBAs and we wish you continued career success and life happiness!

Unrelated: This week we were able to complete and send out more HUGE new physical wedding albums and huge printed photo-filled Wedding Boxes that we produce by hand, so we’re still perfectly on time with each and every client order! In the past week we’ve sent out huge orders to Texas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, & Indiana with more Michigan, Chicago/ Illinois, Ohio, & Indiana client orders to come as their exact photo choices are confirmed one-by-one! It’s a VERY busy December, but we both have our health and a busy schedule, so we’re thankful as we move toward finishing up 2018 work in 2018! We haven’t even had a free second to photograph OR design/ print/ send our personal 5th Annual Christmas Card OR business holiday card, so we have a portion of that on the roster for tomorrow! We will continue to print, frame, package, and deliver orders to clients on Friday & Saturday, then have a whole week of pre-Christmas orders to wrap up next Sunday through Saturday before we hit Christmas! We were hoping for more snow, but it looks like no such luck (at least no luck in time for a photo), so we’re hoping for maybe snow on Christmas or in 2019! We hope that you all had a much less hectic 2018 than we did, but if you had a similar year to us we hope that you too get to take a bit of a holiday break soon! Check in next week here on our Weekly Wednesday blog post for some cuddly animal photography action and warm, fuzzy feelings at the least to ease the chaos of the holidays <3
