This past Sunday we were set up at our 3rd Morris Park Country Club Bridal Show! It's the 3rd year the infamous wedding coordinator of Morris Park Elena Dunn has put the show on and it was by far the best. We're the only photographers who have been there since the start with having set up all three years, so it's been amazing to see the show grow every year! Elena is an extremely hard worker and we love getting to see her every year in March for this show during the wedding "low season" before heading into the wedding season and getting to see her more often during the weddings that we photograph at Morris Park! We can honestly say that Elena goes above and beyond for all of her couples (and other clients and vendors that she works with) and we're so proud of her hard work throughout the years helping brides and grooms plan their wedding receptions while keeping the ship running so to say. She keeps things fun and lighthearted while never allowing any bride to panic if anything goes not according to plans (like when a bride's bus gets lost and may or may not be getting her to the basilica late for her ceremony). We love that she gives her all and are so thankful that she runs this wedding show!
This year at the Morris Park Country Club Bridal Show we had the pleasure of enjoying a later show from 4 to 7 p.m. (rather than the usual 12-3 p.m. most wedding expos have had including other 6 we've done in Indiana, Southwest Michigan, and Chicago). This was nice because it allowed everyone to go to church or wake up late, have lunch, then casually head over to the Bridal Show right before sunset. This is also the time that traditionally a reception would happen, so naturally Elena also planned a faux wedding reception for 5 p.m. (something also new for this bridal show)! We loved that part! We've obviously experienced many a wedding at Morris Park ourselves both as photographers and attendees, but it was great that couples in attendance could experience a grand fully decorated reception hall with tables, flowers, and decor galore and then be able to envision themselves there as the bride and groom were announced in (after the bridesmaids/ groomsmen were announced in) and then cut the cake and enjoyed their first dance.
Without further adieu, here are some of our photos that we snapped in between talking to amazing couples! ((**The flowers on tables within the reception were done by Poppies by Polly and the giant vertical hoop of flowers was created by Floradashery! We love this trend of floral hoops that's been happening in the past couple years and we think it'd make a GORGEOUS piece around an altar for those who aren't having their wedding ceremony in a church!))
Gorgeous, right?! Anyone who has their wedding or event at Morris Park Country Club is lucky indeed. The food, decor, your coordinator Elena, and everything in between always runs smoothly. Every event there is beautiful and classy, so make sure to reach out to them for any of your wedding or event needs-!
Unrelated: We totally forgot that this weekend is St. Patrick's Day, so we have had to postpone a trip to meet with our couples (and then friends) in Chicago to next weekend (we know NOBODY wants to drive or park in that madness- it's a huge deal in Chicago). We're wrapping up work for the week currently over the next few days (after a well-needed museum day/ finally a day off yesterday since we won free tickets) and this weekend we plan to attend the Bendix Woods Sugar Camp Days (so cool)! We aren't sure what Irish festivities we'll get up to over the weekend since not a whole lot is going on here, but maybe we'll enjoy some traditional Irish food or have spirulina in our beers again at the Crooked Ewe...? Have a fantastic St. Patrick's Day this weekend and we will catch you next Weekly Wednesday!
