On this the eve of Thanksgiving we’re back this Weekly Wednesday! This week in line with this American family holiday we’re bringing you a local Michiana Family with South Bend roots! We captured this family this week just a few days ago while all were in town for the Thanksgiving holiday at their home on the river. Let’s get in to the Session!
The eldest daughter/ sibling booked the Session for her family and was actually in Jenny’s high school class here in South Bend. She and Jenny had honors courses together (as well as fun things like the optional rogue Genetics course) and were on the high school tennis team together! In true form she was #1 singles on the varsity tennis team- the highest position obtainable. In her adulthood she earned many educational degrees on the West Coast! She now also competitively bikes on a team out there and even upgraded to an fully outfitted Sprinter Van for her competitive biking travels outside of work-!
We were excited to during their hour morning Session to get to know her 2 siblings a bit as well as 2 partners (and pup)-! If you couldn’t tell by dad’s hat the family has German heritage, so in true form the pup is very well-trained with German commands.
Though the warmest day of the week (a whopping 60), we captured this Extended Family Portrait Session closer to sunrise (since brother had to get back home via long drive), so all were a bit frigid in the late November sunrise frost the morning after the last Notre Dame football home game, but there was plenty of coffee & hot chocolate to go around-!
Once further into the Session we all headed down their backyard to their multi-layer pier and dock to capture some physically warmer portraits in the morning sun which helped thaw us all out.
We so appreciate the family putting up with our shenanigans in the cool morning frost and loved getting to wake them all up with a brisk, cool morning of cameras & studio lights + reflectors in their faces (something our wedding clients & some other Family Portrait Session & Engagement Session clients know all too well).
