Annnnd we’re back with this Autumn Leaves Weekly Wednesday-! This week we’re back with Ashley & Trent’s Autumn Engagement Session here in South Bend. These two dealt with a couple dud rainy dates the week prior before we were finally able to capture their Engagement Session here in South Bend, Indiana a couple weeks ago, so though it was a bit drizzly for their 3rd and final date, they chose to still have their Session and it was well worth the bit of drizzly rain. Enough with the little bit of back story & onto their Session-!
As you can tell by their can-do attitude of still photographing on their drizzly 3rd attempt at a Engagement Session date (and their silly, fun photos below), these two are an absolute blast and are such cool local hard-working Millennials-! We knew that they were cool when we first ZOOM-ed with them and joked about parents & Facebook, but getting to be with them/ photograph them in-person made us so happy that they chose us (because we couldn’t stop laughing)-!
Ashley & Trent live in Granger- a suburb of South Bend. Their wedding coming up next summer is taking place at the same golf course/ club house that Jenny’s only sibling/ sister got married at 6.5 years ago (where we’ve been been lucky enough to photograph our couples’ weddings at for 13.5 years)-!
During their Session these two talked a bit about their jobs. Ashley works as a lawyer within the DCS government and Trent works in corporate at a large business out in Elkhart. We chatted with Trent a bit about his pushing for better pay- a thing that many Millennials (including a lot of our friends in corporate, the arts, and academia) are going through at the moment. Ashley is working within the DCS system here in Indiana- a system that we’ve learned a lot of aspects about over the past 2 years.
More gushing over these two though: These two are not only very funny & hardworking, but they also love working out together (belonging to a local gym chain- very conveniently right next to one of their chosen locations for photos so that they could go change into their next outfits) and have fun-loving, humble spirits. You’d think that moving to multiple rain dates for their Engagement Session and still getting rain would dampen their spirits, but these two kept the mood light and were all-in on any directing that we did (even adding more fun and lightness to evening).
The two of them actually had their first official date at The Whisky Exchange in downtown South Bend, so we were thrilled to get to photograph them there to close out their Session-! You may remember this beautiful, newer spot from previous wedding days/ wedding couples/ bridal parties that we’ve gotten to photograph within the space on their wedding days over the past 8 years, but if not, this was one of our favorite times back in the space.
Ashley & Trent chilled on the couch within The Whisky while we created some photographs of them in the place where their first date took place and afterward enjoyed a drink to celebrate their engagement (and even invited us to relax/ chat with them there for a bit before they headed home as it was a work week night).
Congratulations again to you two, Ashley and Trent! We had so, so much fun photographing you two in downtown South Bend, within the colorful autumn leaves, by your gym, and at your first date spot-! You two are an absolute blast (and hilarious, humble, & hardworking to boot) and we are so thankful for you two. We hope that you (if of age and able) made it out to vote yesterday or were able to absentee vote prior (or via mail)-! We finally made it in to vote yesterday separately during the work day, so it seems that (hopefully) all of the obligations outside of work will all have been handled by this week so that we can focus 100% of our attention on editing, printing, packaging, shipping, scheduling, photographing, and more.
